Just in case you missed me. I’ll go ahead and do a little update.
In November we made my 6th short film. Hot Route. That sums that up. Not really. We had some of the usual suspects helping out. At least usual for me. Anyway, good times. I’m working on submitting to festivals and finishing everything up. I have been busy color correcting the whole thing… I got bored and learned Apple Color. I really like it. Anyway, stay tuned for more about Hot Route.
Also in November. We made a baby. So that’s a big deal. We’re excited. And can’t wait to meet him.
December, January. Holidays.
February. Erin had a great birthday party. Put on by me. She says she never gets a party… that I always get one. She didn’t say never/always.
Shapes Stars Make played at the Granada. Opening for This Will Destroy You. Great show.
i hope you liked my trailer. i got a record number of hits on my blog the last couple of days. 10. that’s not really my record. i found this interesting. a musical venture from the actor ryan gosling (not as hot as zooey or hilary swank). robin loves the notebook. it’s a concept project… about ghosts and such… they are going for a lo-fi effect. i like it. they will be at sxsw. with a local children’s school choir backing them up. if i went to sxsw… i would want to check it out. click the little “HQ” icon at the bottom right to watch it in HD. it’s much nicer.
well, some people who know about it have been asking when they can see my latest short film, hot route. you’ll have to wait until march… hopefully we’ll be invited to screen at AFI DALLAS. can’t wait. anyway, here is a little taste.
i haven’t written on this thing in a long time. i’ll catch up perhaps. i have a draft of a post from a few months ago about how i pulled a dead possum from under my deck. i could also write about shooting my latest short film. ho hum. alas.
saturday i woke up… erin had gone to hang out with her friends… and i had this strange urge to buy an ukulele. an ukulele. you heard me. so i did. i got it yesterday and i like it. i guess i watched amanda palmer do “creep” again on the ukulele and got inspired. which is weird.
one more thing. remember some of the bad movies you watched when you were a kid. don’t get me wrong… there were some good ones. flight of the navigator of course. i did like some monster squad. thanks robbie martindale. i also watched howard the duck an inexcusable number of times. this article brought back some of those memories and made me laugh. remember Mac & Me. yeah you do.
probably the best music videos out there right now. watch these now. or you can forward an email chain next year alerting me to the existence of said videos.
this is a silly interview. i’m terrible at interviews. and why should i be good. why should i be interviewed. anyway, this guy did a good job with the material i gave him. enjoy a good laugh.
sorry i’ve been away. maybe i’ll have something to say soon. until then. know that i am not afraid to race you.
sorry for all the video links. but plop on the sofa and watch this for about 45 min. if you have the current tv channel… it might be on there at some point too.
